There is always a moment at a wedding where the couple should take the chance of a few quiet moments. Whether that is to hug, kiss or cry, to celebrate together or just take a few moments to gather their thoughts before the party starts. I hope this beautiful image reminds all of my wedding couples either of that moment or prepares them to take it when it arises.
This image was taken at a recent styled shoot organised by the lovely @withloverosephotography, along with a group of willing suppliers all finding their inner romantic. Details of everyone else involved are at the end so please go and follow them all as they were amazing.
I was keen to participate as not all of my wedding cakes have that soft whimsical look to them – I love the clean sharp edge look- so it was a dig deep moment. We had a mood board and I did some research on that light and airy feel some photographers achieve. And into the studio, I went…..
My arrival at the venue is generally quite relaxed as, on the whole, my work is done, whereas the florist, hair and make-up, and venue dresser are just starting. I love watching the skill and expertise of others and this is the best moment to catch the vibe coming together. There is always an air of excitement, everyone is chatting and getting to know each other and having a look at the dresses, suits, jewellery etc
I am happy to help out with other suppliers, moving furniture, and holding props so you will often find me mooching about in the background, taking sneaky behind-the-scenes shots, and posting on stories, it’s all about content.
As the day progresses, sets change, other ideas are mooted and suppliers move to watch the action, following the photographer and models like the pied piper. On this day, the sun was out and the most beautiful blossom tree was in full bloom outside. It provided a gorgeous little shaded peaceful spot and several of us wanted to take advantage and just sit down, pick up a glass of Pimm’s and a good book.
These days are so good for us, we are inspired by others, by the moment. It’s the small details that make the difference, those little touches that add style, that personalise each wedding. When the room is full of creatives all adding their own thoughts and suggestions, its’ an explosion and always such a beneficial experience. There are so many stunning images to this shoot that I would love to share so keep an eye on my posts and stories but the last beautiful image has to be saved for the cake. I found my inner romantic and this lovely delicate buttercream cake, decked with fresh foliage and flowers was so pretty and dainty, that I fell in love. I continue to enjoy the sheer pleasure of sharp edges but there is something a little decadent about the texture of this little beauty…
